MA Counseling Psychology, Framingham State University
Allison is a licensed mental health clinician with experience supporting infants and mothers, children, adolescents, young adults, and older adults. Before joining MFCS, Allison worked in a variety of clinical settings. She conducted home visits for pregnant mothers, providing emotional support and promoting healthy mother–infant bonding. She also worked as a therapeutic mentor and residential caseworker with at-risk children and their caregivers in Fall River. Allison gained additional clinical experience as an outpatient clinician in community mental health, working with diverse populations and providing school-based counseling to middle and high school students. Additionally, she is certified as a Massachusetts Problem Gambling Specialist 1 (MA PGS 1) and has experience completing mental health and substance use evaluations for court referrals. Allison uses a person-centered approach, grounded in the belief that individuals are the experts in their own lives. She specializes in working with individuals experiencing addiction, anxiety and mood disorders, chronic illness, trauma, and life transitions. Her therapeutic approach incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, positive psychology, mindfulness and grounding techniques, with an emphasis on self-care. Outside of work, Allison enjoys spending time with her family, especially her 8-year-old daughter—traveling, visiting the beach, spending time in nature, shopping, and going for walks.
