Michelle Avigan, with MFCS since 1996, has over 20 years of experience working with adolescents, adults and couples. She specializes in anxiety and mood disorders, with a concentration in marital therapy. She is currently working toward certification in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), a couple therapy model that emphasizes the development of a safe and secure bond between partners. In her work with individuals she uses a combination of cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic and solution-focused techniques to help clients develop insight and use more effective coping strategies. Her experience includes working with people with a variety of relationship problems, stress related issues and those suffering with grief and loss. She works hard to create a safe environment where she can work collaboratively with clients to help them marshal their own resources and find their best selves.
