Mark Furtado, Psy.D works with individuals and groups in a variety of settings including school, university settings, community, mental health, and outpatient substance abuse treatment. He primarily works with adolescents, young adults, and adults on a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, substance use issues and addiction, mood disorders, adjustment issues, stress management, sleep problems, and relationship issues. He brings warmth and compassion to his work and takes an integrative treatment approach to meet each person's specific needs. Most often, Dr. Furtado incorporates components of humanistic, solution-focused, and cognitive behavioral therapies to support clients as they work towards the important goals they set for themselves. Dr. Furtado has also done research related to LGBTQ identity development and strives to provide culturally competent care for the individuals with whom he works.
